Have you ever meditated and suddenly out of nowhere a mosquito bites you and you can’t help but get concentrated on the area. Even if you try hard not to focus, the sensation continues and before you know you move your body and the rhythm is disturbed. This has been the scenario for me at times, but today something different happened.
I have been reading Buddha’s teachings recently. We all know that we should not kill any living organism. It’s not our right. So, while I was chanting, I felt a mosquito bite and was tempted to raise my hand, but I didn’t do it. I didn’t want to hurt the mosquito, so I thought of the many sadhaks who must have encountered many creatures while doing their sadhana. This gave me power, and to my surprise, the sensation just vanished, and I was able to complete my chanting without moving.
I feel so empowered after not hurting a living organism intentionally.
Take a moment before hurting a living organism and act kindly.
