OOne of my classmates in college had tested positive for COVID19 a fortnight back. After getting well when he returned to college, he was shunned and ostracized by his friends and the faculty. It was as though he had committed a crime by getting infected with the virus!
Being an extremely shy and introverted person, he was heartbroken by their indifference. Feeling his pain, I arranged a special convocation for him. He was dazzled by this surprise. Addressing him as a warrior, I told everyone that he was a truly brave person not only because he had won the battle against the virus but also because he was attending to all his duties with absolute grace, inspite of the hostility and unkindness shown to him by his close friends. Deeply moved by my gesture, he hugged me with tears in his eyes. I hugged him back.
Kindness is the greatest gift you can give to your loved one.
