Yesterday, I had gone shopping for groceries, and there were these Rajasthani singers who were playing their music and singing on the streets. We generally ask beggars that why they don’t earn a living, do something productive. Here, these singers were doing something. They were practising their craft. Singing on the street, hoping someone would appreciate their talent and tip them.
So many people just walked past, oblivious to them, and not even acknowledging their presence. I felt a great deal of compassion for them. I bought some groceries and gave it to them. They were delighted, probably more by the fact that someone acknowledged their existence.
My heartfelt prayer is that we become more aware and conscious of our surroundings and overcome our limited myopic vision.
:Be aware, be compassionate.
