Last Friday, I got into my car to drive to the office. As I stopped at the red light, a heart-wrenching sight met my eyes. Small children were begging for their livelihood in the scorching heat. I always make it a point to keep some cash or food items ready to hand over to them.
That day, a small boy barely six years old asked me for water to drink. He looked very thirsty, and I promptly handed over the water bottle I was carrying. The boy’s eyes shone with happiness. With a beaming smile, he acknowledged my gesture by saying “Thank you, Bhaiya.”
It made my day! Such acts inspire me to become more compassionate day after day.
Takeaway
I It is not important what you give but what inside you inspires you to act.
