With the Covid situation, unless we need something essential, we hardly move out of our home. Last week, we went to a nearby store to buy some disposables. It was near closing time when we reached there; we quickly took what we wanted and went to the cash counter to make the payment. As the girls at the counter were packing up our purchases, I asked them where they lived. They replied that they had to travel by the Metro to reach their house, then take a bus and lastly walk it up to their residence.
We couldn’t drop them anywhere due to the restricted seating regulations in force. So, after the casual talk and some exchange of laughter and smiles, we left. As we were getting into the car, one of them called us and gave us some rubber bands used to hold masks in place. This gesture truly moved me.
Smiles work wonders.
