Sweety Aunty stays in the flat opposite another aunt’s flat in Kanpur. I met her in Feb 2020 before the lockdown and got to know that her daughter is a primary school teacher. Her husband has no job, and her son is studying Hotel Management. Her relatives are giving his fees.
On 15th Sept, I received a phone call from my aunt that Sweety Aunty is sitting beside her crying as her husband tried to commit suicide. Getting on the call, I got to know that rent had not been paid for the past three months (during the lockdown) and the landlord had abused and threatened her. Her daughter’s salary had been cut due to COVID, and her husband took this extreme step as a solution to get rid of these problems. I was told that Rs 1 lakh was needed for paying the rent. I offered the amount to her and assured her that she did not have to pay it back. She was speechless. Later, my aunt told me that her case was genuine, and she was speaking the truth. For me, the most important is doing a Rak at every opportunity. It is only by divine grace that these come our way, and I am grateful to my Guru and Black Lotus for helping me think along these lines.
