This story is about a children’s Gita Class that I take my son to. For the last couple of years, my son and I have been ardent Gita readers. Last Diwali, the kids performed the ‘Gita Dhyanam’ on stage. The process of teaching my 9-year-old son was so beautiful. I totally fell in love with the Dhyanam and used to sing it at times when I was alone.
At Guru Purnima in the ashram, I actually got an opportunity to sing it in front of the deity himself; it was all that I could have asked for.
Post the holidays when the class began again, I went to the facilitator and thanked her profusely for the way she had conducted it.
The facilitator didn’t seem to want to hear it and left abruptly. Usually, I would have been upset, but thanks to my deity’s and Guru’s grace, I did not react at all. I did not have a trace of emotion after that!
During my journey as a seeker, I feel self-transformation has led me to become calm, accepting and a better person.
