Ten years ago, during my postgraduation, my friend used to drop me to the bus stop whenever I used to go to my native place. One day, mid-afternoon, he stopped to buy some fruits from an old lady sitting on the roadside.
We knew she was charging us much more for the fruits. When I was about to bargain, my friend stopped me and later said never negotiate from roadside vendors, they struggle to meet their daily needs. I was just thinking about what he said, again he stopped the vehicle and gave those fruits to a person who needed it the most.
Even today, the memory of his act of kindness is fresh in my mind, and his words still echo in my ears. They keep reminding me not to bargain from roadside vendors and instead to support them.
