My parents had tenants for a month who were an old couple from Jammu. The lady was undergoing radiation therapy for breast cancer, and my mother proposed to them that I would provide their meals. I agreed to the arrangement for a nominal fee. I tried my best to accommodate their requests and also kept their timings in mind.
On the last day, the lady asked me to give them food early and also to pack biryani for the journey. That morning as I was getting everything ready, she came to me anxiously exhausted. Nervous, she requested me to call her sister at Jammu, who would then recharge the phones. I tried, and when the phone was unreachable, I pacified her, telling her that I would do it.
She was so overwhelmed and showered me with blessings. It wasn’t easy to get their phones recharged – it would take at least 4 hours to get the phones working again. However, my son somehow managed to get it done. I was relieved too, as the couple had to leave to the station directly from the airport.
The relief and smiles on their faces made me feel so contented and blessed that I could be helpful in time.
