Mary Sebastian, the lady in the photograph, probably owns a heart that no COVID or flood situation can ever deter.
During the recent Kerala floods, Mary has been packing food for many hungry mouths. And then it struck her – “It’s lunch, alright, but what if someone feels like having a hot cup of tea, especially during these rains?” She looked no further, bought small chikki packs, wrapped Rs.100 notes in them and tucked them into each lunch pack she sent out.
A cop happened to receive one of these packs. Curious, he tracked down Mary and her kind gesture. “I just wanted to help in a small way,” she smiles. Where does she get this money to spare? From her catering business, which has now gone down the dumps because of the current situation. The Rs.100 is from her meagre savings. As the story spread like wildfire, she says she never wanted anybody to know about this.
“Proud to be your son”, declares her son, Sebin, on his Facebook post.
“Proud of you, Mary”, the Universe echoes.
