I try very hard to do a Rak every day. While visiting my parents last year during Diwali, my husband and I went out for Diwali shopping, and on the way back, we stopped at the nearest ATM to withdraw cash. The kiosk had 2 ATM machines to dispense the money. We entered to see a girl, clueless, and holding a silver card. My husband went ahead with the task of withdrawing money. I, on the other hand, was looking at the girl.
As our eyes met, she told me that she had found the card in the kiosk. As soon as she said that I knew that I had found mt Rak. I immediately took the card from her hand and went out to look for the cardholder.
Meanwhile, my husband, who was clueless about all this chaos, came out looking for me. When I narrated the story to him, he advised me to leave the card where the girl found it. I decided to look for the guard who was nowhere to be found. At the same time, the girl who found the card in the first place returned to check if I had been able to trace the owner. To add to the confusion, my husband reminded us that both of us have been caught on the ATM camera with the card – we were suspects!
My mind started racing. I recalled a friend who worked in the same bank, and without wasting precious moments, I called him. He reassured me he would try to sort the matter quickly. It was 9 pm, and most private banks were closed. My friend soon called me back and directed us to go to the nearest branch in our area and handover the card to the branch manager. We duly complied and happily called it a day.
