Whenever I am in Rishikesh, I try to distribute some small items to little kids when I go for a walk. This time I took small packs of bread. While distributing, a saffron-clad Sadhu came along, so I gave him one as well, though he did not appear the bread eating type.
I continued with my walk, and on the way back, I saw the bread packet with a lady who sells a small leaf basket with one diya and some flowers as offerings to Ma Ganga every evening. Turning towards the river, I saw the Sadhu sitting at its edge, offering the diya and flowers to the holy Ganges. He had traded the packet of bread for the offering.
I was overwhelmed with his devotion and pure heart. ??
