The lockdown has indeed brought its own set of challenges, especially to the elderly. A day before complete lockdown, My parents left for our old home in a different city. Had we known how strict things would turn, I would not have sent them. Both being senior citizens, this month has been difficult with no one from the family to take care of essential supplies.
But what I have learnt this month is that the world is not short of kind people. Last week they told me how one of the neighbours brings milk daily for them, others on top of our floor brings vegetables once in 2 days. Not just that when lockdown got extended, the monthly grocery was supplied by a set of young people to all houses where there are elderly who have been asked not to leave houses. They have been getting all medical supplies on time, and even when they ran out of cash, one of the neighbours gave them 5000 INR.
Although me being not able to help them is hurting me but am full of gratitude to all those who have been taking care of all senior citizens like my parents across the globe.
