Recently, my husband and I sold our house. One of the conditions was that we have it professionally cleaned when we moved out. I called up the maid service that we have used in the past and requested a final cleaning, which they immediately accepted.
My husband and I are fortunate that we can work from home for months on end in isolation, but others are not so lucky. Due to current restrictions on specific businesses, I thought it must be difficult for such services to keep regular clients and also how risky it was for the four maids to go over to a house and or office that required cleaning.
We thought we would show the maids we appreciated the fact that they accepted our request and also the time they spent at our home during this challenging time. As the four ladies were leaving, we thanked them individually and gave each a gift card to a restaurant and chocolates. They were completely surprised by our gesture and happily accepted.
We may not see them again due to us moving, but I felt showing the maids we appreciated them was the least we could do for them.
