I have wanted to share this one since long. There is a custom of offering cooked rice to the crows after the Naivedyam at the altar every day. This custom is prevalent in South India. Since there are no crows in the place I live, we offer it to the pigeons. The pigeons wait for it. Some of them arrive early before the Arati. It gives us great joy to see them enjoy the rice we offer. To tell you the truth, after we put the rice, we wait for them to start pecking on it.
