Here’s a story of a sceptic, cynic and everything in between who has turned into a Black Lotus user.
One morning, I was walking and enjoying the fresh air and quietude. My neighbour came up to me and said, “Good morning, how are you?” We had only spoken once or twice before. The tone with which he greeted me and a big smile on his face wasn’t what you usually get from a neighbour/stranger. It was a bit strange but it made me feel good anyway. Later in the evening, the same thing happened. Another neighbour this time with the same tone, same big smile. Why all this?
Then I found the answer: Black Lotus. I now live in an area with probably the highest concentration of Black Lotus users on the earth (you know where I’m talking about). Mystery solved; they were doing their RAKs of Black Lotus.
This experience got me curious. I decided to try it too. As if to validate my hypothesis of human nature, whoever I greeted with a smile smiled back at me. And it simply felt good when you gave a smile to others, and got the same thing in return.
Until then, my Black Lotus app had been just sitting quietly on my phone’s screen. I used it as a timer at times, nothing more. I used to be sceptical about the idea of Rak, to be honest. It even felt like a hypocritic thing to do.
Then, after this incident and a few more, my view has changed. Which comes first anyway? Intention or action? Chicken or egg? Who knows. Thought shapes action that’s for sure. But the other way around is equally true.
Now I’m a Black Lotus user. So my fellow sceptics and cynics, go ahead, and try it yourself!
Takeaway
From whoever it may be, a smile is a smile!
