I lost my father due to COVID. I couldn’t do any formal rituals, so I decided to visit the Gurudwara Sahib to pay obeisance and conduct ‘ardaas’ in his name. I had the ‘prasadam’ in his name and gave some biscuits for the ‘langar’. I visited a nearby shop to buy it. A boy was working as a help in the shop. Post buying the biscuits, I asked him if he wanted something. The shopkeeper gave me a surprised look. I told him I wanted to buy something for him of his choice. The boy said ‘no’ at first, but on my persistence, he agreed to have juice. The shine in his eyes and a shy smile on his face was enough, and no words were required.
