One of my friends has a young girl as a paying guest. She is an overseas student here, very shy and quiet. She joined my friend to attend a prayer near my home, where I invited too. My friend left after a short visit due to other commitments while the young girl stayed back. It was a cold, windy night, and by the time we finished the prayer, it was late. She didn’t know anyone and was planning to take a cab. I didn’t feel it was safe for her walking in the dark to the cab, and being a student here, spending money on a taxi would put pressure on her. I suggested I would drop her home.
First, she was reluctant but agreed soon. On the way, she opened up and told me how good she felt. I dropped her home and felt at peace, knowing she is safe and enjoyed her evening. Being away from family we all need support and care I think.
Everyone matters and needs care.
