Last week, on the terrace of my housing complex, a stray cat gave birth to 4 adorable kittens. We had fun sharing the photos of the kittens on our WhatsApp group.
A week passed, and it so happened that a crow was targeting the kittens while the mother was away. Terrified, the kittens, unknowingly ran into a drainage pipe. The children tried everything to rescue the little animals but they failed. They came to me for help. I pondered over ideas to rescue the kittens.
It occurred to me that I should pour water with force to flush out the kittens.but since I was busy in a meeting, I could not act upon my idea at once. I prayed for divine intervention, and within 10 minutes it happened to start raining. As water gushed through the pipe the kittens sailed smoothly down and landed at the junction of the pipes. I quicky rushed and opened the manhole and rescued them. The mother cat eagerly jumped in to pick up her meowing babies and went away.
When I look back, I realise that she was trying to communicate her distress to me the previous day when she was scratching my legs. I learnt that all are equal in the eyes of the Almighty, Even tiny kittens are important in the scheme of things of Nature.
Takeaway
The universe doesn’t differentiate between animals and humans, we mustn’t either.
