My senior has problems with her legs. She is overweight and doesn’t like to walk around or exercise. One night she fell. Early morning when I visited her, she was on the floor beside the bed, the floor was wet with urine. I quickly called the maid to help. She was able to lift my senior a little, and I pushed a small stool so that she could sit down and then stand using her strength.
Then, knowing that I had to go for chanting, I was delighted and happy when my maid told me that I could go and that she would manage everything. When I came back to check, she had already cleaned up my senior and sat her on a chair. She had even begun cleaning the bed and room. At that point, I was very grateful that my maid cared for older people, and for everything she has done for my senior.
Takeaway
We often underestimate the smallest act of caring – it has the potential to turn a life around.
