I stay on the ground floor of my building, and my house has often attracted the attention of people who wanted their water bottles refilled while searching for the correct address for delivery or any other work. I have always wondered why they never go to any of the other 16 apartments on the ground floor.
A few days ago, I was meditating on my deity when someone knocked on my door. It was a tired old man with a wrinkled face and a list of numbers written on a small piece of paper. He started telling me, “Sir, we sell snacks and other items, but due to COVID, we are unable to go anywhere. Could you please help us with some money?” Immediately I was reminded that I could do a Rak. I gave him Rs 20. He nodded and went away, smiling.
This small act impacted me a lot. I just felt my deity had come to check on me. I understand it is important to be kind, generous and helpful to others, whenever we can. He is watching over everything.
Be kind, generous and helpful whenever possible. Even a little will do.
