I am a School Administrator, and in the afternoons, I help my husband in running our grocery store. During the lockdown, I saw many people begging because of the loss of their livelihood. We decided that we should be doing something about it. It seemed a sign that even when many businesses were asked to remain shut during the lockdown, our store was exempt.
We put bags of provisions and veggies in the car and started searching for a Dhaba who could make simple food using the ingredients we carried. We found one, and from that day till the ease of the lockdown, we distribute food every morning in a village nearby. People young and old with kids in tow would surround us. We then gave them instructions on social distancing, face covering, and precautions they needed to follow. The smile and gratitude on their faces made us thank the Divine for the opportunity.
