Ravi, a 25-year-old compounder at a hospital, comes to our house to give injections to my father who is undergoing treatment for his ear infection. I always choose to have breakfast with Ravi, all the while chatting with him. Ravi told me that he works for bare minimum wages. His family background his very poor, and he wishes to help his family by pursuing a diploma/degree course in Pharmacy. The cost of the course was around 2/2.5 lacs, and the duration would be five years. Without any hesitation, I promptly promised to pay the entire amount for his course without any strings attached. He was shocked and awestruck. My parents and I could see from his expression that he thought this was some kind of a joke. I assured him that I was serious, and really meant what I said, and would stand by my promise. He went home and told his father, who was equally overwhelmed by this generous offer.
I am ready to hand over the money to Ravi the moment he accepts my offer. Ravi is very happy and hopeful that with this financial help, he can build a bright future for himself and his family.
Takeaway
Be grateful for having enough to help others.
