We are a group of devotee doctors of our Guru, who hosted a medical camp in a village near our Ashram about a year ago. When we returned from the camp, our Guru said beautiful things about the medical profession, which I had never realized. He made a profound statement that a doctor’s whole life is an act of kindness. This made me happy that I had chosen to be a doctor and inspired me even more to make a difference in someone’s life. I have always been gentle with my words when I spoke to patients. However, after listening to him talk about the miraculous effect of kindness, it further transformed the doctor in me. In the past, I only treated the patients with medicines, but now, when I see those troubled and anxious faces, I try to speak as kindly as possible. It’s amazing to see how their anxiety goes away with just a few reassuring words. Few of them would even feel better just after a few minutes of conversation. Each day, I experience that medicines cure their ailments, but only kind words heal them. It has a much deeper and profound impact. I am determined to continue the practice of healing through kind words.
Healing with kindness has deeper impact.
