Earlier this month, I was visiting Diu (a coastal town, near Gujarat, India) for a family vacation. On the way to the resort, I saw a beautiful hill and decided to visit it the next day, early in the morning, and spend some time relaxing in nature. Next day, when I started for the hill, I was joined by my dad. On the way, we were happy to meet a family of goatherds. As we walked towards them, we saw that the lady was carrying an injured baby goat in her arms. My dad asked her what had happened and found out that the nearby dogs had attacked it, and as they had no money for its treatment, they were carrying it around with them. They further told us that they had been unable to feed their flock of goats for some days. We enquired about their residence and promised to be back with food and milk for the family and their flock. Their happiness was obvious, and we shared warm smiles. We returned with provisions for them. We applied some medicine and bandaged the little goat’s wounds. The goat herd showed me how to carry and feed the goat. My heart did a little somersault ? as I held the baby goat in my arms!
