My dad always advised us to trust everyone and be kind. In fact, he always lived his life as an example for us to follow.
I used to commute back and forth from work daily using a taxi for hire service. I was used to riding with a lot of different drivers at least twice daily and did not pay too much attention to them. One day it struck me that I should practice what my dad taught us. I started making eye contact with my drivers, inquired about their names, smiled, wished them good morning/ afternoon /evening, and if they were willing, engaged them in conversation about their interests. What a difference this made to my daily life and commute. It impacted some of those drivers too. There were a few drivers who would wait for my booking to have a pleasant ride in the morning! I started looking forward to the driver I would meet that day as well. A smile and a greeting do go a long way. I also saw how much people yearn for a nice interaction. Trust amongst people goes a long way to make a better living experience.
As my Guruji says, being kind and compassionate is a sign of spiritual progress. Thanks to him and our Black Lotus Parivar (family) there are so many stories which inspire each other to do good.?
Being mindful of every interaction can unlock a beautiful life journey.
