I was at the hospital recently to take care of my wife, who had suffered a fracture. I noticed a woman who wanted change for 500 rupees. She didn’t have the exact amount of money to pay the fare of the autorickshaw was requesting everyone around to help her out. She had an older person with her, and she needed to pay 150 rupees to the autorickshaw driver who had brought them there. She was getting restless as nobody was coming forward to help.
Wanting to help her, I searched my wallet only to find currency notes of 500 rupees. Since I had to go to the pharmacy for medicines, I told her that I would gladly help her with the change, if she could wait till I returned from the pharmacy. With the permission of the people ahead of me, I jumped the queue. I requested the pharmacist to give me the supplies out of turn as the lady was waiting and she had to attend to the elderly person with her. The pharmacist obliged, and I realized kind intentions get reciprocated.
The lady was thankful for the change, and after settling her elderly companion in the hospital, she came looking for me to repay the 150 rupees via mobile transfer. I felt happy that I could be of help in a small way.
