A few days ago, I went to a supermarket to do some shopping. As I was parking my car, I noticed a middle-aged lady, wearing a soiled white saree, begging near the entrance. I ignored her as I went in. But as I was putting things into my basket, her face flashed before my eyes. It occurred to me that she might not have eaten anything, maybe for days, which might have forced her to beg. Here I was buying so many things, perhaps even more than I needed. It would be an unforgivable act on my part if a fellow human had to sleep hungry. I bought some provisions for her, and put them in a bag and gave it to her. She gave me a grateful smile. As I was going back home, I hoped it was enough to last her at least a few days.
Takeaway
Never let go of an opportunity to help someone who may not be as fortunate as we are.
