I have read many stories over here where it has been mentioned that the writer has helped their maid, friend, stranger etc. But very rarely the incident of taking help is mentioned by any of us.
Today I would like to narrate one very small incident where my subordinate helped me when I was very stressed at the office. I got an application under the Right to Information Act. Still, I was unable to trace the file from which the relevant information was to be provided. I was very worried and stressed. I went through the list of files but was not able to recall the subject of the file from which information was to be extracted—being a government office; we keep a printed copy of the files.
I was searching for the file but not able to locate it. Since the information was sensitive in nature, I started to worry as well. Suddenly my subordinate Shweta went through the list of files on her system and read out the actual subject matter. She suddenly took the keys of the file room and brought out the file from records.
I was so happy and so indebted. After coming home in the evening, I sent a note, saying thank you. It was really a great help to me by my untrained subordinate.
Takeaway
Help could arrive from an unexpected source, so don’t lose heart.
