It’s been almost a year that campuses worldwide have been empty, and students have moved to virtual classrooms. The personal touch and the special sessions have made a few students interact one-on-one and share their problems. If one can’t do anything for another, then just sitting and listening to the person who wants to talk his/her heart out is very helpful.
A similar thing happened today when a student came all the way from Delhi to the campus just to meet us. He was very emotional when he spoke about his life to us. I felt that giving him a sympathetic hearing was the least I could do.
He left a message which said, “Thank you, Sir, for all the time you gave.”
This brought a smile to my face.
Takeaway
It is better to listen without judging rather than pass judgment.
