During the lockdown period, the restaurant just opposite my apartment was almost shut down and bleeding. Two young men and the middle-aged owner were desperate as to how to keep the show running.
Since I was staying alone and away from my family, I decided to get my food from them every day. I spent around Rs 70-80 daily, and others like me joined in. Then I insisted that the owner starts serving biryani every Sunday, which gradually became a hit. One Sunday, even I did not get biryani! And when he really needed a microwave and I purchased one for him.
I left for home once the lockdown eased and came back after five months and the owner was delighted to see me. Today, being a Sunday, when I paid for the biryani, he did not charge the full amount, saying it’s discounted today for all.
What goes around,comes around.
