We use gas cylinders as fuel for cooking in my new home. The delivery man expects a little extra than the amount on the invoice as a tip, and I do that. This rounding off the bill amount makes both of us happy. This time, however, I paid the invoice amount online. When the delivery man came with the gas cylinder, I noticed that he was disappointed that I had made the payment online. Now he did not have the opportunity to ask for the extra money to round off the invoice. I observed his feelings and tipped him more than he expected.
I noticed the smile and gratitude on his face and the happiness I experienced in giving. So now I keep spare change to tip him, as I pay online these days, and he happily comes to deliver the gas whenever we need a replacement. And we both are happy again.?
Takeaway
Truly, happiness lies in giving, and not in taking.
