My work is associated with schools academics and preparing kids for competitive exams. Since March, we all have been under a sine curve (ups and downs) and needless to say, one of the most critical dimensions which have been hit is finance.
To top it all schools are closed. We have one employee who is an office coordinator who is pregnant. She is in the 9th month and has been supported all through. She has been given time off to rest and will also be paid part of her salary (still challenging) until she joins back. The working staff have been given full liberty to manage tasks at their convenience and can take up multiple projects (if there are any).
In these difficult times, people have been given free time, reduced working hours and still have been paid partially. We have managed to stay afloat and run the show somehow. We have also tried our best to show kindness to all those who work with us. That is the choice we have made.
Takeaway
Break with a lesser salary is better than no salary.
