While walking briskly, I happened to stop by three kids who were trying to save a baby pigeon who was unable to fly. We tried calling the security guard but in vain. Keeping it safely in a cardboard box, the kids started using their cute little brains for mission ‘save the pigeon’. They even mentioned that they have a group to save animals. I requested them to take it home or else the cats would eat it. Then this brave six-year-old attempted to make a wall, like the Great Wall of China, so that it would not crawl away. The kids were hesitant to take it home, so I offered to take the bird home. I wished the kids luck and told them that I was very proud of them.
I then called my helper, who got a small basket and placed the bird in it. We then took it home and gave it a little quinoa. Then my helper made a small home for the little bird out of a shoebox, and we kept it in our utility area. We hope it will learn to fly soon or else we will call the animal shelter where it will get better care.
Kids are our greatest teachers.
