This is not something that I did.
It was my roommate’s birthday. All of us live in PG accommodation, and we decorated our room for her. We also got a cake and snacks for the party. At midnight, she cut the cake, and we all danced and sat talking for a long time. It was a wonderful celebration, but I was tired that day. I had been running around for my assignments, shooting practices, and NGO. I also had a big game the day after. I wanted to go to bed.
I told my friends that I just had to sleep as it had been a really long day for me. I decided to rest in the other room. My roommate, whose birthday it was, came into the room and made the bed for me, got my pillow, switched on the AC, and switched off the lights. It felt exactly like a mum putting her baby to sleep. I felt a great deal of warmth, and so loved by her gesture. She had known that I was tired, a bit more so than usual, and she did it for me, so kindly, and lovingly as though I was her sister.
To this day, whenever I get irritated with people when they ask me to do something, I think of her, and that gesture of hers. I try to do things for others with the same sentiment she showed towards me that day. She made me feel extremely loved that day.
Oh, she also shared her birthday candies with me the next day! 🙂
