I have a balcony full of plants & some special ones that thrive on ‘Arghya Water’( water from prayer utensils). Some of these plants have been lovingly named Sri, Hari, Saraswati, etc.
Now that I’m moving back to my home country, the idea of finding homes for my plants was constantly on my mind. However, I didn’t have to try hard at all. My friends who visited me just asked for them on their own and took them home.
Saraswati, the big white bougainvillaea was a tough one. After 2 rejections, I posted it in my condo WA group and a kind lady called me immediately accepting Saraswati. I gave it to her on a condition that In the event she didn’t want her anymore, she would have to find another home for it. Abandoning it was not permitted.
This kind lady assured me & requested me to go over to her home. She informed me that she was a plant lover. My housekeeper went over with the plant and returned relieved as Saraswati would now live with 150 plant siblings in the same household.
A dear friend had repatriated to India 5 years ago from whom I had adopted Saraswati.
Word soon went out and I received a call from another dear friend,” Is there any plant for me too, Manjula. Even I want a piece of you.”
I feel overwhelmed and brimming with gratitude that all my plants are well taken care of.
Takeaway
Loving plants is loving the Divine.
