When prompted to do random acts of kindness daily, I am amazed how it can turn into a habit. I realise how often I have started thinking of doing things for others to make their day better. Right now, at work, we have a local company selling their famous chocolate boxes and other goodies in the cafeteria. I immediately saw an opportunity to get a box of chocolate and share it with my coworkers.
I offered chocolate to everyone and was amazed at how much of an impact my gift of sharing had made. Little did I know, my supervisor and a coworker were having a horrible day working with sick patients in a critical setting and were overwhelmed by their thoughts.
The simple small act of offering a piece of chocolate to them went beyond just giving away some candy. They both individually thanked me and told me that it was a thoughtful gesture which immediately made them feel less stressed and better already!
It may surprise you that doing something which may seem small to you, may have a huge impact on another person’s life.
