Often we go to the doctor for some health issue, discuss our problem with his and thank him for our recovery. But sometimes, the shoe is on the other foot. Today, I had a cold and went to my local doctor for medicines. I saw that he seemed a bit low, so I asked after his wellbeing.
His expression changed as soon as he heard my concern. He told me he was a bit unwell, but there was a big sign of relief on his face. He said that he had viral fever for the past week, and was feeling weak and low as a result. He felt better today and so was back at work. He thanked me for asking after his health, especially as most people come for medicines and to talk about their illnesses.
It was a great moment for me – I left him with a big smile on his face and feeling better than before.
Kindness is who you are and not what you do.
