If you go for a walk in Germany’s small towns and villages, you see many pretty, tidy and even artful gardens. They are beautiful to look at, but what you don’t see is that they have become a major problem for many songbirds. They hardly find any nesting material, let alone nesting places.
Since we moved to a house with a garden late last summer, we decided to share our new home with the birds around. We built birdhouses, feeders and nesting material stations and hung them in the trees. They were gratefully accepted by our little new neighbours. Now our garden is full of life with busy birds flying around, carrying nesting material and visiting the feeders.
Nature is everywhere you go! 🌱
