I used to love gardening when I was in school and spent hours in our backyard weeding and landscaping. But as I moved to apartments, I would only have a few potted plants at home. My passion for gardening was also overcome by the daily hustle of city life.
One day sitting in my balcony, I noticed one of my potted areca palms was in a completely withered condition, all dried up, with very few green leaves and those too covered with dust and bird droppings. I felt a surge of guilt in me. After all, these plants depended on my care, and now they are dying because of my negligence.
I carried the plant inside and cleaned it carefully, leaf by leaf, and weeded the pot properly. I talked to the plant in my heart, asking forgiveness and promised to take care of all of them henceforth. So I started watering it daily, fondly talking to it and caressing its leaves with love and care.
It wasn’t even a week when I started to see the miracle. My eyes almost welled up when I saw that tiny green shoot coming out. The plant began to recover and completely rejuvenated in a few days. It was as if it talked back to me, saying, “Thank you, this is all I needed… A little love and care.”
A little while later, I read a book named ‘The Celestial Prophecy’ that reconfirmed my belief in the liveliness of the bond I shared with my plants. Since then, I have been caring and loving these wonderful jewels spending just a few minutes, and I feel they talk back to me as well.
Takeaway
