My granddaughters live nearby, visit me practically every day, and spend some time with me, as I live alone. We play games, talk, and enjoy watching movies and eating popcorn. I taught them how to use the micro oven.
Once, the younger one, who was ten, made the popcorn and brought it in a big bowl. She then got four smaller bowls, which she filled and gave to her sister and me and one to the maid. Only then did she sit down happily with her bowl to watch the movie.
I was touched and happy too. We all have been telling them always to share their food. I was happy that my 10-year-old granddaughter did it silently and without fuss. With this simple act, she not only upheld the values we taught her but gave me a lesson in sharing with dignity, sharing with no agenda.
Takeaway
Share without fuss and with dignity that is respectful of the other.
