I recently shifted to a new house with a big garden. The gardener had put in a lot of work for the past week. When he came yesterday, I decided to work alongside as much planting had to be done..
I chatted with him, and by lunch, I could see he was tired of all the planting and digging. I told him to stop and gave him some water. Then I knew he would be hungry too, so I gave him food and made him sit on a chair near the kitchen. The poor fellow was so touched, which set me thinking – a little kindness and gentleness makes a world of difference. And, more than anything, being with them, working alongside, and chatting makes a person feel appreciated and ‘seen’.
