Dogs, in general, hold a special place in my heart. The condition of the strays who roam the streets feels like a sore in the centre of my chest. I remind myself that there is a divine order to things, and situations unfold precisely the way they are meant to. Nonetheless, I believe life puts us in situations where we can choose to help and make things better, and a little something is better than nothing.
There is a street dog whom I see every day. When I first met her, she had just given birth to puppies. She looked so feeble and skinny that you could see her bones jutting out. I started feeding her every day while on my walks, and I am happy to say that she has gained weight, strength, and energy to feed her pups in just three months. She waits for me and walks with me now and never forgets to let me know how grateful she is by showering me with affection, jumps, and kisses. I named her Sapna, a dream.
A small act of kindness towards those in need fills the heart ❤️ of the giver & the receiver.
