I am currently transitioning to a leadership role at work. I am facing many challenges, and there seems to be no helping hand around. I am mostly left to figure things out by myself.
Given this situation, I happened to have a casual conversation with a woman in a leadership position from another department. Although I didn’t tell her much, she was very perceptive and spoke to me about the things I was struggling with. She indicated that she, too, had gone through similar challenges and shared with me how she coped.
She instilled hope and confidence in me that I would sail through if I stayed determined and on course. Since then, I have looked at situations through a new lens. Whenever I doubt my credibility, I revert to that conversation with her. I am sure that I will go a long way with the motivation she provided me.
Takeaway
We always know how to go about things but need someone to channelise our thoughts.
