I had a childhood classmate, with whom I lost touch after school. We parted ways for higher studies and didn’t really connect well after school. Now we are residing in the same city but never met. Recently I have learnt from my best friend that my old classmate’s mother is unwell and admitted to the hospital. Though I lost touch with him, the news naturally made me feel extremely sad. All the past memories resurfaced, during our school time, there were instances where I interacted with his parents and they used to be extremely kind and were, still are, full of love. We used to share our lunchboxes where I remember eating idly cooked by aunty. Immediately, without a second thought I texted him that I’ll be visiting her the next day. I went along with my father to the hospital, saw aunty and wished her full and complete recovery. She was able to recognise me and smiled. I wasn’t able to meet my classmate (as he was attending another work) but I called him and wished him all good. I felt immensely happy that I pushed all my mental boundaries and took that step to go visit her. I wish and pray for her full recovery. God bless everyone.
Takeaway
