Like any other afternoon, I’d been waiting for Mumma to get home so we could have lunch together. This has been an unwritten tradition for quite a few years now. The thought of her eating alone after a day at the hospital makes me sad.
On the day in question, she appeared a little lost in thought, and when I said so, she said she was feeling guilty. She had asked a fruit vendor to give litchis to a little homeless girl, and the vendor pulled the greenest ones of the lot and gave them to the girl. Since my mother was in a hurry, she was unable to say anything.
It’s hardly a wonder that she’s my inspiration for kindness.
Do a Rak wherever, whenever and for whoever possible.
