Winters are harsh for homeless people. We can only imagine what they go through, while we complain from the comfort of our house. While I had donated some old clothes a few days back, I thought some new blankets will make them a bit more happy and solve their problems. So, I bought four blankets. I offered one to an old man, to my surprise he thanked me and said that he already has one and I can offer that to someone who really needs it.
That very moment, an old lady approached me and asked me for a blanket. She insisted that I give
her three blankets as she needed one for her son and another for her grandchild. I resisted, as I wasn’t sure if she was being honest. Anyway, I gave her three blankets and on my way back, gave the last one to a homeless kid.
What I admired about the first person was that although he was homeless, he was content. What it taught me was that there are plenty of things to learn from every one on the planet. At the end of the day, we are all just mediums for an act.
Be content with what you have.
