When it comes to running a business, the relationship with our vendors is a delicate one. Very recently, I wanted to get something done by a known vendor. He is a good person who usually delivers the work on time.
But of late, there were issues with the delivery. I had placed an order, and the process of getting it done by him was delayed for a long time. I have to admit that I was losing my patience, but I politely called him and asked him the reason for the delay.
He told me that there were some issues in his home and so on. I gently listened to him and offered to help, even medically if required. He was happy to hear this, and he thanked me.
I realised that people are always fighting a battle inside, trying to put up a brave face and thus being patient towards others always helps.
Takeaway
Always be kind and patient because most people are fighting an internal battle while putting on a brave front.
