My manager was away on vacation for two weeks. The day he left, I mailed him a request to consider reimbursement of the renewal of a professional certification I hold. I renewed my certificate as he wasn’t available, not sure if I would be reimbursed (I am new where I work and don’t know the policy).
The day he returned, the first thing my manager discussed with me was the cost and got the required approvals within a day. I felt very gratified that he had given my request utmost priority. I shall keep that in mind when I deal with my co-workers.
A good manager shows kindness to his employees by prioritising their requests.
