One day, as I was returning home from work, I had an unusual number of bags in my hands, so I took the elevator. The liftman helped me close the door. Once I reached my floor, I saw a girl about 5 or 6 yrs, who was just about to take the stairs. She ran towards me as I stepped out of the elevator. I thought she chose to take the elevator instead of the stairs since it was already there. So I left the door open and asked her to get in. She refused. I was a little baffled and asked her then why did she had come towards the lift. Her answer touched me: ‘Auntie, I wanted to help you.’ I thanked her, she smiled and ran down the stairs.
